Press Release

For Paris Photo 2013, Danziger Gallery presents “American Darkness" – an exhibition of masterworks that look at the theme literally, metaphorically, and as subject and object. From the romantic cityscapes of Steichen and Abbott to the probing observations of Frank and Arbus - and in photographs capturing both the threat and beauty of darkness - the polarities of America are poetically expressed.
